The manufacturers sometimes provide a reference term indicating the months or liters purified but, as said, if the water is particularly hard, the carafe will make more effort and the filter will be consumed sooner.
The most advanced models from a technological point of view are equipped with an electronic indicator that controls their remaining life and warns with a luminous signal when the moment of change has arrived; therefore a very practical and effective system.

Capacity and Cleanliness
Attention to the capacity of the carafe; some users could be misled by the total size indicated which does not correspond to the actual one because it is necessary to take into account the filter to be inserted inside, which, of course, reduces it. For example, a carafe with a capacity of 2 liters could contain only 1.5 liters of water plus the filter.
Finally, it is essential that the carafe can be dismantled in all its parts to be cleaned from time to time, for example, every time the filter is changed.

It consists of a larger container in which a compartment that houses the filter is inserted. Wash the larger vessel, then fill it with water and take the new screen, which you will have to shake in the water for a few seconds.
Now you can mount the entire carafe, including the cartridge, and fill it. Please wait until the water is filtered, but do not drink it, throw it away, or use it to wash the dishes. Repeat this once more. Here, the third time you can finally filter the drinking water.
If your model also has an electronic indicator, the time has come to activate it. The operations described are the same that must be performed every time we use a new filter.
