Before purchasing the best solar power bank for your needs, it is essential to always keep in mind that there is no perfect solar panel for any weather situation:
For example, the performance of a solar panel decreases when the temperature increases, and it is, therefore, essential to be able to choose the most “balanced” model for the type of use that will be considered later. Here are the most important factors to consider before purchasing.
Type of Panel
Generally speaking, solar power banks currently on the market can use two types of solar panels, suitable for different weather conditions and with different performances that depend on numerous factors.
The most common types of solar panels are monocrystalline panels and polycrystalline panels. Here are the main characteristics of both types:

Another factor to consider when buying a power bank is the power of its panels. It is a value measured in watts (W), which corresponds to the sum of all the boards used to compose the photovoltaic system and the relative ability to produce electricity through sunlight.
It is clear that the greater the power, the greater the solar charging performance, but the larger the solar charger will also be. It is essential to remember that the power value does not correspond to the output value.
This difference is a choice due to the safety factor, which is used to avoid excessive overheating of the system and to extend its life over time. In general, however, with a 15-20 W power bank or solar charger, you can quickly recharge a mobile phone, if instead, you need to recharge different devices, then you could opt for a more powerful version.
Battery Capacity
The capacity of the battery integrated into the solar power bank is measured in mAh, which is nothing more than the amount of electricity that a battery can store inside, that is, the capacity.
Clearly, the higher the mAh value, the greater the capacity of the power bank, but the larger its size and the charging time in the sun. If you want to buy a small and pocket-sized solar power bank, you will need to aim for 5000 mAh models, able to recharge a smartphone once and recharge faster.
But it is always good to remember one thing: the battery charger capacity indicated is a nominal value, but the effective charge delivered will be 20 to 35% lower, due to a general dispersion.
Ports
Just as in a traditional power bank, doors are also essential in a solar power bank. It is precisely the ports that supply power to the connected devices, and it is necessary to know the number and intensity of energy delivery, to be able to evaluate any portable charger with knowledge of the cause, even solar-powered ones.

At the moment, however, there are still very few models compatible with this standard, and not all smartphones are compatible with wireless charging, even if the number increases day by day.

Resistance to Impacts and Splashes of Water
Especially in the world of solar power banks, that is, portable chargers that can recharge with the sun and that you take with you on outdoor excursions, it is essential to check whether the model chosen is resistant to shocks and splashes of water, to understand well how to transport it.
Particular models are wrapped in a resistant rubber layer, with which the battery will be protected from possible impacts. In this case, it will be possible to transport them also by fixing them to the backpack, so that the solar panels collect as many solar radiations as possible.
