Types and Convenience
Which gas boiler to buy? Open, closed, or condensing chamber? First of all, let’s start by seeing what the substantial differences are, and what are the advantages and disadvantages that characterize the different types of gas boiler.
The open chamber boilers are divided into two further sub-categories: those without a chimney, defined as type A, and those with a natural draft chimney, of type B.
Type A is no longer following the law, it can be installed safely in open spaces but needs a change to fall within the norm, and therefore requires an additional expense.
Type B, on the other hand, can be installed only in ventilated rooms. In those where there is an air intake for the barrel, it also requires a cover on the chamber in any case, and therefore additional expenditure.
Closed-chamber or type C boilers, on the other hand, have a forced draft flue which draws air directly from the outside, through a pipe, and therefore can be safely installed in any room except the garage.
It is provided it is ventilated, to prevent gas concentrations in the environment, in case of any leaks from the joints. Boilers of this type are the most common since they do not require any additional expense; they are following the law and guarantee good performance in terms of energy efficiency.
Condensing Gas Boilers
Condensing gas boilers represent the latest novelty, the most advanced in terms of technology, and deserve a more detailed description.
In gas boilers ranging from type A to type C, part of the generated heat is lost, since it is expelled together with the exhaust fumes; condensing gas boilers, on the other hand, integrate a post-exchanger capable of recovering the latent heat of condensation and guaranteeing exceptional thermal efficiency.
These boiler models are, of course, more expensive and are located in the medium-high market segment, but are extremely efficient since they drastically reduce energy consumption.
Their limitation, however, consists in the fact that these are latest-generation models optimized for natural gas fueling, converting them for LPG fueling would require an additional cost, to be added to the already substantial amount of the boiler.
Supply
The type of food is essential because, in some circumstances, it may or may not require additional expenditure; there are three options available: methane, LPG, and propane air, i.e., a mixture composed of 50% air and 50% propane.
Some models are equipped with a connection valid for both natural gas and LPG, while other models, especially the latest generation ones, are designed exclusively for connection to natural gas.
This does not mean that they can be adapted for LPG, but the relative conversion kit is considered an option that requires additional expense, and the same goes for the propane air supply.
Condensing System
The quality and the support guaranteed by the condensing mode optimizes the heating to the best, to effectively produce the heat.
It is a combined action gas model. It is powered by methane and can also be converted to LPG. In this way, the instantaneous production of domestic hot water can be exploited to the full.
Among the other available options, there is also the management of a solar panel system, which can be positioned and positioned without difficulty to maximize the versatility of this boiler.
The flame modulation system, set on a 1: 3 variant, significantly reduces the number of times the burner starts, a choice that improves the yield and extends the life of the boiler.
Compactness
The boiler has a maximum weight of 37 kilos, with dimensions designed to allow it to be positioned outside, covered according to current safety standards. Maintenance and placement take place without difficulty, managing the three components that make up the boiler frame.
We have the front part, the side panels, and the visual control system. Energy production reaches 26.6 kW, a value that makes it suitable for a single or semi-detached house.
An 8-liter expansion tank is included on the heating side, and the 50 mm distance of the connections from the wall is an additional item that speeds up and improves the positioning process of the boiler.

Consumers consider it an excellent condensing gas boiler with high-level electronics. Still, it is designed to be powered by natural gas, while for LPG, it needs a conversion kit to be purchased separately, and the expense would become excessive, considering the price of the boiler.
