The most technologically advanced and expensive models allow you to exploit a function called discriminant that will enable you to choose whether to eliminate one or more materials from the search criteria.
If, for example, you have no interest in finding iron objects, you can delete it from the detections and, if the metal detector encounters a ferrous product, it will ignore it and will not emit any acoustic signal.

How Deep?

In principle, a one euro coin can be detected in a lawn at a depth ranging from 2-3.5 centimeters for medium / low-end metal detectors, up to 4-5 centimeters for semi-professional models.
Finally, rely on a model proposed by the best-known brands, so it will be easier to find any spare parts as well as to sell it if you find that looking for metals is not the hobby for you.

How to Use a Metal Detector?
If you think that there is a hidden treasure in your area, but you do not have a map indicating the exact point, you will need a metal detector, an instrument capable of detecting the presence of metal even at several meters of depth.
