The choice of a personal laptop is dictated by numerous variables that mainly depend on your needs. There is no absolute best notebook, but there are specific models that go better with what you need.

If you have to use a laptop to surf the internet, to read e-mail or for a few games without too many frills, then even an economic model can be right for you.

I’ll make you understand what to choose based on your needs and which combined part to prioritize if you have to play, work, or watch movies online and offline. For each intended use, there is a different type of laptop, both in terms of format and internal hardware.

Buying Guide to Select the Best Laptops

When compiling this list of the best corporate laptops, I took into consideration several critical factors including power, battery life, feature set and real value for money.

This means that I have selected a wide range of laptops to suit most of the budget and tastes of, hopefully, users.

For each intended use, there is a different laptop, and on this page, I will help you find the best notebook based on format, screen size, integrated components.

Almost everyone has the Windows 10 Pro operating system (or Windows 10 Workstation) to improve their business credentials. Do not miss the Apple operating system for Mac and ChromeOS.

The hardware of a notebook allows you to establish a priori, during the purchase, the power and characteristics that a system has. It is not just about the speed of execution of the app since a laptop can have a higher number of USB ports, a battery of more or less high capacity, the availability or not of a memory card reader.

Within the hardware category, we also find the webcam or the integrated speaker system, all components that go to establish how a computer can be used and in what circumstances it becomes useful.

Cpu (processor)

Represents the fundamental part of the computer, its brain. It performs all calculations and processes data through calculation units called cores: the most modern computers can have two, four, six, eight and more centres, usually all operating at the same frequency, which is expressed in GHz.

The spectrum represents the brute power of each processor unit, while a higher number of cores usually translates into more exceptional ability to work with multiple tasks simultaneously.

There are several processor families, produced on PC almost entirely by Intel and AMD.

Intel Core I3 / I5 and Amd Series A

They are the most popular processors in mid-range computers, capable of churning out excellent performance without consuming too much. Intel Core i3 processors are the cheapest, while the Core i5 processors cost more and offer better performance.

Intel Core i7 and AMD Ryzen

They are the absolute most potent processors on laptops, and represent the high end of the two most important manufacturers in this sector, Intel and AMD. Usually the former is recommended for speed and energy consumption, but the latter is cheaper with the same performance.

Intel Celeron / Pentium and AMD E Series: These processors are found on entry-level computers and offer lower than average performance.

Intel Atom or AMD Micro: they are among the CPUs that consume less electricity during use, are inexpensive and are integrated on computers such as 2-in-1, convertibles and tablets.

Intel Core m: they consume even less than the Intel Atom, and these are also used on computers with a smaller form factor. In terms of performance, they are halfway between the Atoms and the Core family processors. The latest generation m cores have partially lost their nomenclature: after the base m3, there is the new m5 which is called core i5 and the new m7 which is called i7 (just like the “big brothers” of the Core I line, but with more limited performance).

GPU

The GPU is a type of processor that is used to carry out all graphic card processing. In laptops, we can find them already integrated into the same processor package, or dedicated in a different box.

Usually, the latter solution represents the one that offers higher power and the one used in computers intended for gamers or multimedia. In contrast, the solutions with integrated GPU consume less and are on average cheaper.

RAM

It is the system memory in which the data of the applications that the computer uses at a given moment are temporarily stored.

This means that the more significant its quantity, the higher the number of requests that the computer can run without showing slowdowns.

Having a lot of rams helps in some circumstances, but the CPU must also be able to handle the workload, so the two components must be balanced to obtain a good user experience in all cases. I advise you not to go below 4 GB of RAM if you don’t want to experience poor performance in some moments.

While Dell and Lenovo are two names you would probably associate with notebooks for work, Huawei may not be the first name you would think of when talking about corporate laptops. Yet the Chinese company has proven to be an excellent laptop maker with its new MateBook X Pro.

It has a beautiful design that will get a nice look in the boardroom, it is light enough to take with you and has powerful components and excellent battery life. It is also one of the cheapest ultrabooks on the market.

To function, each computer needs an operating system, i.e. software that interfaces with the hardware as profoundly as possible.

The solid pieces of equipment would be useless if there were not a basic program that allows them to talk to each other to allow proper functioning.

The operating system uses drivers to take advantage of peripherals, and a series of advanced software that will enable them to perform operations with the machine.

There are several operating systems on the market, all compatible with an exclusive application park that cannot be shared with other competing systems. Despite this, there are “universal” formats that can be read by all computers (such as JPG for photos or AVI for videos).
